Description
This is an original lobby card from the original 1945 Universal release of "House of Dracula". As with all the monster movie memorabilia I have sold or will sell, I bought it around 1964 with my paperboy money at the now legendary Able Man's Book Store in Hamtramck, MI.It's the standard 14"x11" size and is printed on a heavier stock than what was used for the RealArt re-releases. The colors are still vibrant. It's from the best scene of the movie. As I could find only one original 1945 release card anywhere on the Internet (asking ,500) I consider this one rare.
There are some slight flaws in the card but I think overall it's in good shape for being almost 80 years old. I tried to take photos of all of them and photos 20 & 23 are best at showing the small holes. To be honest, I never noticed the two holes in Frankenstein's chest until I held the card up to a strong light as they really don't show up unless you're looking for them. Photo 21 was taken against a bright yellow poster board (which for some reason photographed light green) and you can really only notice one of the holes. So, depending on how you plan to display the card, the holes may not be an issue (then again they might).
Please see my feedback comments regarding the other monster movie items I have sold from flip books to posters, especially my King Kong and House of Frankenstein lobby cards.
